United in Spirit,
Strong in Purpose

We build a stronger Caribbean diaspora through organized action and shared values.

The Caribbean diaspora represents one of the world’s most vibrant, dynamic communities. Yet our strength multiplies when we act as one. At CDU, we bring together individuals, families, and organizations across borders—united by our commitment to our region’s future.

What We Do Together

COMMUNITY & CONNECTION

"We Are Stronger Together"

Our Annual Unity Breakfasts and community gatherings forge meaningful connections
and build networks that last.

These moments remind us of who we are and what we can accomplish together.

DISASTER RESILIENCE & RECOVERY

"When Crisis Strikes, We Respond"

The Caribbean faces recurring hurricanes and natural disasters. The Disaster Relief Fund was created because disaster response is our responsibility. We provide urgent aid, essential resources, and recovery support when communities need it most.

CULTURE & CELEBRATION

"Celebrating Who We Are"

Our Caribbean identity is vibrant and worth celebrating. From food to festivals, music to traditions—we honor our cultural heritage and create platforms for diaspora members to share and celebrate.

Why Disaster Relief Matters Now

The Caribbean sits at the intersection of climate vulnerability and natural disaster exposure. Nearly 1 in 4 Caribbean residents live in areas highly exposed to hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods. Climate change is intensifying these threats. That’s why our Disaster Relief Fund exists to ensure no community faces recovery alone.

After a major hurricane, the average family of 4 needs $400-600 in emergency supplies: water, food, fuel. Recovery takes years. But we know this: every $1 invested in disaster preparedness saves $7 in recovery costs. Your support doesn’t just help today, it builds resilience for tomorrow.

The Scale Of The Crisis

26M+

Caribbean residents affected by natural disasters in the last 20 years

90%+

of Caribbean populations live within 5km of the coast (highest vulnerability zones)

$93B

Average hurricane season costs exceed in damages (2017: Hurricanes Irma & Maria alone)

2%

Natural disasters cost Caribbean economies annually of GDP
The Caribbean is our home, wherever we live. When disaster strikes, we don’t look  away. We show up.

Our Commitment

Caribbean Diaspora United's Mission Is Threefold

To bring together the diverse Caribbean diaspora, creating a powerful, collective voice to address common issues and advocate for shared interests.

1

To foster unity and cultural harmony within the global Caribbean diaspora, ensuring that geography never diminishes our bonds.

2

To support humanitarian causes in the Caribbean region, responding to crises and building a more resilient future for our communities.

3

We envision a Caribbean diaspora that is organized, empowered, and unapologetically proud. A diaspora where our voices are heard, where our contributions are recognized, and where we actively shape the future of our region.

Every action we take, every breakfast we host, every disaster relief dollar we  distribute, every cultural moment we celebrate, flows from this commitment. We are  not just a nonprofit; we are a movement.

Our Philosophy in Action

CDU amplifies the voice of the diaspora, working alongside partner organizations and government agencies to advance shared goals and uplift Caribbean communities at home and abroad. We believe in:

THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE ACTION

Alone we are strong. Together, we are unstoppable.

We speak for ourselves, not through others.
Crisis response is important. Building resilience is essential.
Our heritage is not nostalgia. It is our competitive advantage.
Every Caribbean diaspora member has a place here.
